Playlists for 2011

Interstella 885

This week we did something completely different here at Album 88 and extended the weekly freeform to start 2011 off right - with four hours of Daft Punk!

For those of you not familiar with the group, Daft Punk are a French electronic duo who formed in 1993 and have been rocking around the world ever since. They have three studio albums, a Grammy winning live album, and several collections and remixes available. Their most recent release is the soundtrack to the film Tron: Legacy.

Album 88's music director Patrick selected all of the music heard between 4pm and 6pm, and b-chan selected all of the music from 6pm to 8pm. Thanks for listening!

For a bit of Japan related Daft Punk, check out this interview the band did for Japanese TV at the beginning of the decade (part one, part two). In part two at 4:07, that's the band Quruli (who perform the song Bara no Hana in the NMC promo) hanging out with Daft Punk.
